Thank you

In the days since posting Momentum, friends have offered fly swatters and powerful expletives to shoo the mental pests away, and I’m grateful for the support. However, a daily inspirational email that I’ve been receiving for quite sometime from Karen Jandorf – Seasons for Nonviolence – offered a fresh perspective. The message was a quote from spiritual empowerment author Iyanla Vanzant: “Your willingness to look at your darkness is what empowers you to change.”

‘Hmmmm,’ I thought, ‘thank you, no-see-ums. I would not be so willing to explore my dark spots if you weren’t so annoying.’  And, for a moment, I can see how my self doubts serve me.
